Cracker Barrel Old Country Store shares dropped more than 7% Thursday after the company unveiled a rebrand that removed the iconic barrel and man from its logo, according to PBS News. The Tennessee-based chain introduced a simplified gold-and-brown emblem featuring only the words “Cracker Barrel,” part of its “All the More” campaign that also highlights new fall menu items. The redesign comes alongside ongoing remodels of its nearly 660 restaurants and retail stores, replacing antique-filled interiors with lighter colors and modern furniture. Some longtime fans criticized the changes online, but Cracker Barrel said its values remain intact and that “Uncle Herschel,” the man from its former logo, still represents its hospitality culture.
